High IQ in today’s fast pace world seems a essential component to excel in education, achieve a successful career or to handle complex situations. It is a measure of intelligence and ability of human mind to accumulate knowledge and utilise this acquired knowledge rationally. However it is acknowledged beyond doubts that just a good IQ may not be suffice to achieve a balanced life. Emotional quotient (EQ) or intelligence is thus considered by many to be foundation of rational Intelligence or IQ. In order to develop and sustain a good EQ, Spiritual quotient essentially forms the basis of emotional intelligence.
It is told - “We have 3 people living within ourselves - 1) Who i think i am - Mind 2) Who others think i am - Body 3) Who i really am - Soul. The universality of this truth has been expounded by various spiritual text and scientific literature.
Both Bohr and Schrödinger, the founders of quantum physics and Nobel laureates, were avid readers of the Vedic texts. They observed that their experiments in quantum physics were consistent with what they had read in the Vedas. Schrödinger, in speaking of a universe in which particles are represented by wave functions, said, “The unity and continuity of Vedanta are reflected in the unity and continuity of wave mechanics. This is entirely consistent with the Vedanta concept of All in One.”
Einstein’s famous quote on the Bhagavad-gita is: “When I read the Bhagavad-gita and reflect about how God created this universe everything else seems so superfluous.” He also wrote in his book The World as I See It, “I maintain that the cosmic religious feeling is the strongest and noblest motive for scientific research”.
J. Robert Oppenheimer an American theoretical physicist, famously referred to as “the father of the atomic bomb” uttered the words :“Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds”, after he had seen the fireball glowing after the bomb had been dropped. This was a quote from chapter 11 verse 32 of the Bhagavad-Gita. He was never a Hindu in a devotional sense, but he did take up Sanskrit lessons so he could better understand the Gita in its native tongue and was deeply affected by Vedic philosophy. Oppenheimer also claimed that, “access to the Vedas is the greatest privilege this century may claim over all previous centuries”
Dr. Eben Alexander, a well acclaimed neurosurgeon and author of book - Proof of heaven quotes “Consciousness is the Most Profound Mystery in the Universe”. He shares his experiences of days he was lay in ICU in coma in this book - “Om was the sound I remembered hearing associated with that omniscient, omnipotent, and unconditionally loving God….”
Thus have many intelligentsias globally acknowledged the universality of single principle that governs this universe, the cause of all causes. These universal principles have been extensively studied and utilized in innumerable walks of life from quantum mechanics to mind body soul approach in medical science. These spiritual texts form the very basis for understanding and pursuing the quest of science to the one single source.
Atheist is not a man who does not believe in God! He is not a man who does not visit a temple, mosque, church or synagogue. He is a man who does not listen to his inner voice.
